Sources and Citations Library: Complete Bibliography

TL;DR: This page lists every primary source we reference across Nex Tools content, organized by topic. For each source we note the full citation, relevant topic area, and tier ranking (Tier 1 Primary, Tier 2 Secondary, Tier 3 General Reference). Our methodology prioritizes Tier 1 primary sources. Tier 2 and 3 are used sparingly and with disclosure. This library is updated as new primary sources are integrated.

Transparent citation is one of our core editorial commitments. This page provides the comprehensive bibliography of primary sources we reference across the 116+ pages on Nex Tools, organized by topic area. Readers who want to verify specific claims on Nex Tools, trace a concept back to its origin, or do their own deeper research can find pointers here to the authoritative works we rely on.

Sources are organized by topic area and tier-ranked. Tier 1 sources are primary sources - the original developer of a concept, the original researcher who performed a study, or the working practitioner who has published extensively. Tier 2 sources are reputable secondary scholarship. Tier 3 sources are general reference. Our Methodology page explains how we apply this hierarchy to editorial decisions.

How to Read This Bibliography

For readers who want to use this bibliography productively:

  1. Identify the topic. Sections above are organized by major topic area. Start by finding the section most relevant to the claim you are researching.
  2. Find the tier. Tier 1 sources are foundational. Tier 2 are reputable secondary sources. Tier 3 are general reference.
  3. Check the work. For academic and popular books, standard citation format is provided. Most works are available through libraries, major retailers, or academic databases.
  4. Verify specific claims. If a Nex Tools page references a specific source, you can trace it back to the source here and verify the specific claim against the original work.
  5. Do your own research. This bibliography is also a starting point for readers who want to go deeper than our coverage.

This library is updated continuously. As we integrate new primary sources into our content or retire sources that turn out not to meet our standards, this page is updated. The most recent update is marked at the top of the page.

Sources We Have Considered But Do Not Use

For transparency, some sources that appear in other spiritual content we have evaluated and chosen not to use:

  • Anonymous ancient traditions cited without specific text or author. "Ancient wisdom" is not a citation. If a claim traces to a specific text or teacher, we cite that. If it does not, we frame the claim differently.
  • Popular social media astrology content. TikTok and Instagram spiritual content is ephemeral and often uncredited. We do not cite such content as authoritative.
  • AI-generated content from other sites. Other AI-drafted content is not citable as a primary source regardless of how extensive.
  • Wikipedia. Useful as an accessibility link for readers; not used as a primary source in our work.
  • Unverified quotes attributed to famous figures. Many quotes circulating in spiritual content are misattributed. We cite the specific text where a quote appears, not the general attribution.

This transparency about what we exclude is as important as what we include. The spiritual content industry often cites thin sources as if they were authoritative; we try to distinguish clearly.

Adding to the Library

New sources are integrated into our content under the following conditions:

  • The source qualifies as Tier 1 primary or Tier 2 reputable secondary.
  • The source is available to readers who want to verify (not a private archive).
  • The source adds meaningful information not already available through existing sources.
  • The source is relevant to our editorial scope.

Sources suggested by readers are reviewed by the editorial team. Readers can suggest sources through our contact form. We do not accept commercial promotion disguised as source suggestions.
